Galerie Chloé Perrin is excited to present “Chaque Jour est ma Naissance” (Every Day is My Birth), the first retrospective of the late French artist Jef Banc. Opening on October 12 and running through November 9. After exhibiting internationally throughout the late 1950s and 1960s, Banc progressively withdrew from the art world, choosing instead to work in near-seclusion from his studio on rue de Clignancourt until his death in 2021. Chaque jour est ma naissance brings this largely unseen body of work back into view, revealing an artist for whom painting was less a profession than a lifelong spiritual and existential quest.
